Meet The Artiste

The word “Artiste” means performer. Life of an Artiste is a performance piece meant to inspire the viewer to follow their dreams, enjoy the journey and refuse to quit. Cameron Law was born in Dallas, TX and grew up just east of the city in Mesquite. There he learned the values that culminate throughout this film. He studied theater arts up through college, moved out to Los Angeles and found his biggest lesson learned in show business. "I moved out to LA to become an actor. Instead I became a banker. While working at the bank one day, I met a guy who would change the outlook on my acting career forever. He had his own production company, and would come into the bank often, usually to make deposits. So one day, I asked him what kind of advice would he give to someone like me. He said, Cameron, you have 150,000 actors/actresses right here in LA trying to network, mingle with this person or that person, hoping to get hired by someone else. You have 15,000 directors/writers right here in just LA trying to do the same thing, not to mention people all over the world coming here hoping to get hired by someone else to make their dreams come true. What you don't have is very many people creating their own content and making Hollywood watch them. When he said that, a light bulb moment went off in my head and I realized that if I'm going to have any kind of an acting career, I've got to take matters into my own hands. Within two weeks of that conversation, I quit my job at the bank, told my boss at the time that I'm going to be too busy with traveling and building a career that I would no longer have time for a full time job. From there, I bought up film equipment that I didn't even know how to use, moved back home to Texas to save money, got an agent, joined a weekly acting workshop and began to create Life of an Artiste.
